Florida football is wrapping up their week of practice and starting to get ready for their Saturday night showdown with the Tennessee Volunteers.

While Florida comes into this game almost touchdown underdogs, this is a rivalry that has transcended common sense a lot in the past, and this weekend should be no exception.

This game figures to be a whole lot closer than we all thought it would be over the summer, and a lot of members of the media believe that the Gators are in a good spot to pull the upset.

Josh Pate is one of those people, and he had some very encouraging words for Gator fans as we get closer to the weekend.

Florida football: Anything can happen in The Swamp

Pate talked a lot about how Tennessee isn’t quite the team that we thought they would be, and that they’re very beatable.

He also referenced that this is a college football primetime game in The Swamp. Need I say more?

"“I have got a feeling that we’re gonna see an inspired performance from Florida Saturday…somehow, someway, Florida is gonna find a way to turn this into a hammer fight. Not only am I going to take them to cover, I think Florida is gonna find a way, somehow, to pull the upset.”"

The Gators know how important this game is to the rest of their season, and what it would mean if they can pull out a win. More importantly, maybe, they know what could happen if they lose.

So yes, this game is going to be perhaps the most electric The Swamp is all fall, with FSU being the possible exception. And the players and coaches are going to leave everything they have on the field.

We’re gonna be in for a good one this Saturday, folks.
