There isn’t anything negative to say about Spencer Rattler’s performance against Furman, as he went 25/27 passing for 345 yards and three touchdowns.
But it doesn’t absolve the nine sacks they took against North Carolina, which leaves the Gamecocks still with the third-worst sack percentage in the country.
Also, South Carolina was tied with Furman with under five minutes to play in the first half and gave up 21 points to the fighting Billy Napiers.
The hype around the Gamecocks was built on their back-to-back upsets to end last season, but the lack of consistency they had prior to that still gives us confidence of a win.
