Florida Football: Anthony Richardson throws first career NFL TD pass
After an electric season with Florida football in 2022 that was filled with ups and downs, Anthony Richardson parlayed that success into being one of the top picks of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Indianapolis Colts selected Richardson with the fourth overall selection with the hopes he could achieve a sky-high ceiling.
It didn’t take long for Richardson to achieve one of his first milestones as he threw for his first career touchdown pass in his opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Florida Football: Something we didn’t see in Gainesville
So there is a sense of irony that Richardson’s first career NFL touchdown pass came off a screen pass.
In the third quarter, on a 2nd and 28, Richardson fired a pass to his left to Michael Pittman Jr., who did the rest of the work and ran 39 yards for the score.
After the play, Pittman made sure to give Richardson the ball to signify the occasion.
