Florida football recruiting: Gators’ commit Kahnen Daniels went off last night
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting is bringing in some elite talent in the 2024 class, including some of the best players in the country.
But the Gators have some hidden gems in that class as well that aren’t rated as high as others, but are just as capable of being an impact player.
One of those guys is Kahnen Daniels, a 4-star RB out of West Point, Mississippi, who committed to the Gators back in April of this year.
Last night, Daniels had a career game and showed everybody what he’s capable of on the football field.
Florida football recruiting: A relentless effort
Kahnen’s stat line last night almost doesn’t seem real to look at. But I promise you, he really did this on the field.
He carried the ball 38 times for 427 yards, which is 11.2 yards per carry, and scored seven touchdowns. He was responsible for every score that West Point had last night. He led his team to a 50-40 win.
Getting more than a first down every time you touch the ball is one thing. But to do it 38 times and still leave the defense with no response is nearly impossible. And even with all those carries, almost one in every five of them went to the house.
I’m not sure you could recreate that easily in a video game.
Perhaps Daniel’s showing will help boost his recruit ranking. Per On3’s Industry Ranking, Kahnen is the 315th-best player in the country, the 26th-best RB, and the 10th-best player coming out of Mississippi.
I’d like to see 25 other backs in his class put up the game that he did.
Regardless of star rating, Daniels’ performance proves one thing. Billy Napier and his coaches know how to recruit.
Their evaluations are spot on, and they’re able to find guys who will make a difference at the next level.
Kahnen is just one future Gator who will be a household name before long.
