Florida football is getting set for their week two matchup, and home opener against the McNeese State Cowboys.

Looking for a bounce-back win to try and right the ship, Billy Napier made a couple of adjustments to the Gators’ depth chart ahead of week two.

Now, I don’t want to mislead you. None of these changes are groundbreaking moves that will drastically impact the looks of the team.

But a few changes are notable and show that Napier is paying attention to who’s doing what on the field.

Florida football: Multiple changes on offense

The defensive side of the depth chart didn’t see a whole lot of movement. All of the starters are the same, which makes sense given their impressive numbers against Utah.

The Utes were just 3-13 on third downs and only managed to gain 3.5 yards per rush. The defense did its job, they were just put in some tough situations.

On the offensive side of the ball, there are a couple of notable changes.

First, Eugene Wilson III is now listed as a starter, after being lower on the depth chart heading into last week’s opener.

Clearly, the coaches saw what the fans saw: an explosive, dynamic playmaker with the ability to turn any play into a big one.

The corresponding move to moving Wilson up was bumping Kahleil Jackson down, who made headlines after being named a starter as a former walk-on.

Both tight end spots now have different starters as well. Hayden Hanses is now listed above Dante Zanders, and Jonathan Odom sits above Arlis Boardingham.

That group didn’t really do anything special against the Utes, and Napier is looking to shake things up to try and spark the room.

Regardless of what the depth chart says, we can expect a lot of guys to get some snaps this weekend. In what figures to be a blowout, there will be a lot of time to get some of the backups some run.
