Florida Football Increased Snaps: Kelby Collins

  • Vs. Utah – 8 snaps

Another freshman defensive lineman who jumped off the screen with the limited snaps he got, Kelby Collins, was Florida’s highest-graded defensive player by Pro Football Focus.

As we previewed in his freshman profile, we said prior to the season that:

"“Noted for his first-step quickness as well as his overall power, Collins was sought after by Alabama before Billy Napier was able to win the recruiting battle. Collins had 16 sacks during his junior campaign with Gardendale High School in Alabama.”"

Given Napier’s praise during camp, it was a bit surprising that Collins only saw eight snaps last week. Somehow, we think he will get more this week.
