With Utah in the rearview mirror, Florida football has its sights set on McNeese State this Saturday. While it is highly probable that the Gator coaching staff has one eye on the film for Tennessee, the primary focus for Florida right now is on the Cowboys.

And based on the film from McNeese State last Saturday, Ricky Pearsall should be geared up for a career-best statistical game this Saturday.

Florida Football: Run Ricky Run

McNeese State lost to Tarleton State last Saturday 52-31. We’ll chronicle the offense for the Cowboys tomorrow, but the defense has a plethora of holes that Florida should be able to exploit with ease.

McNeese State tended to play extremely soft coverage last Saturday, leading to super simple completions that Graham Mertz showcased last week he is more than capable of making. Combined with suspect tackling from the Cowboys, the stage is set for Pearsall to potentially hit a 70-yard catch and run at some point in the game.

The thing is for McNeese State, when they tried to play press coverage, it didn’t go well for them either against Tarleton State. If the Texans were able to break their press coverage, one can only think what the Gators are capable of.

Pearsall’s career-high came last season against FSU when he hauled in five catches for 148 yards.

If he can slip a tackle or two early and break off a massive run after catch, there is the potential for Pearsall to top that mark on Saturday.

If Florida does what it is supposed to on offense, multiple Gators should have big days. This McNeese State defense is set up for Eugene Wilson also to have a breakout day, while at the same time Florida tries to get its running game going as well.
