SEC Round Up Week 1: Despite slow starts, all favorites held serve
Jalen Milroe Era is underway
At 39.5 points, the spread for this game still felt too low and Alabama made sure to beat that spread by double digits.
The Crimson Tide are now led by Jalen Milroe, who was solid. He was 13/18 passing for 194 yards and three touchdowns.
Bama used eight different guys to run the ball and scored a touchdown on eight of their 11 possessions.

Texas A&M explodes in the second quarter
Another SEC team that didn’t have a convincing score line after one quarter, Texas A&M put up 28 points in the second quarter because they finally had the ball.
New Mexico chewed up seven minutes on their opening drive and another 3:30 on their second drive, making the score after the first quarter only 7-0 in favor of the Aggies.
Thing is, Texas A&M didn’t punt on any of their first half possessions and went into halftime with a 35-7 lead.
Conner Weigman was the headline with five touchdowns on 18/23 passing.
Auburn uses army of running backs
It didn’t really matter who Auburn had running the ball; they were gaining yards. The Tigers needed it, too because Payton Thorne was mid at best.
Auburn had seven different guys run the ball a total of 44 times for 289 yards rushing. Auburn had three players over 50 yards, and no one player had more than 10 carries.
Thorne, meanwhile, was 10/17 passing for 141 yards.
Will the real Carolina please stand up?
After an entire off-season of hearing how great South Carolina was supposed to be, the squad lost by double digits on a neutral field to a low ranked North Carolina squad.
At Florida has a SEC friend in the loss column now after Spencer Rattler are nine sacks against the Tar Heels.
Gamecocks kept it close in the first half, but never had the punch to fight back as North Carolina pulled away in the second half.
Rattler did finish 30/39 for 353 yards passing.
