Florida football recruiting: Gators still making a push for Jamari Howard
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting only has a few spots left in their already impressive 2024 recruiting class, and have a couple of guys in mind as they fill out their class.
One of those guys is an in-state DB who was originally committed to Michigan State, and will now likely make his decision between a pair of in-state schools.
Jamari Howard, out of Miami, Florida, is still hearing regularly from Corey Raymond and the Gators and feels like a priority target for UF.
Florida has an opportunity to take a quality player away from Florida State and the Big Ten if they can lock down his recruitment.
Florida football recruiting: Never let up
Billy Napier and his staff have had a very aggressive approach to recruiting ever since they got on campus, and that has carried over through the 2024 cycle.
They’re relentless in pursuit of the players on top of their board, and Howard is no exception. He told On3 recently that coach Raymond is in touch with him daily.
"“He makes sure I am straight every day. He checks on me, he makes sure my family is good and he just does a good job with me.”"
Jamari is ranked as the 111th-best player in the country, the 12th-best corner in the ’24 class, and the 16th-best player coming out of Florida on 247’s Composite Rankings.
Howard attended UF’s junior day back in January, and the Gators have been a strong contender in his recruitment ever since.
Florida State has been the leader for Howard ever since he dropped the Spartans, but as we’ve said 100 times this cycle, you can’t count out Billy Napier and the Gators in anybody’s recruitment.
Napier and Raymond are going to keep pushing until Jamary signs, and if he pops to the Gators he will be a great addition to their defensive class.
