We said that Vanderbilt was a must-win to prevent a complete train wreck. In that same vein, South Carolina is a must-win if Florida wants to make it to a bowl game this season.
The Gamecocks have a lot of positive momentum this season after back-to-back upset wins to end last season over Tennessee and Clemson.
But as we pointed out last week, who was the team that smacked South Carolina one week prior to those upsets?
Beamer Ball is alive and well in Columbia, SC, but that doesn’t mean they are a team with any consistency. This is the same team that lost to Arkansas, got mercy-ruled by Georgia, and lost by double digits to Missouri.
Here is a fun fact, Spencer Rattler averaged 7.6 yards per passing attempt last season.
For all the gloom and doom surrounding Graham Mertz, he averaged 7.5 yards per attempt last season.
Rattler had 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Mertz has 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
But remember that Florida is the one with the quarterback problem.
