Florida football recruiting: Big 3 battling over top-ten RB Deandre Desinor
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting is going after some of the top running backs in the country next year in an effort to land the No.1 recruiting class.
One guy they’re tracking down is a top-ten back in 2025 that will come down to a Big 3 battle in the state of Florida.
Deandre Desinor, out of Delray Beach, Florida, is ranked as the 6th-best running back per On3’s Industry Ranking, and figures to be staying in his home state for college.
On3’s RPM sends a clear message: One of Florida, Miami, or FSU will land his commitment.
Florida football recruiting: True track speed
After doing my evaluations, which should be noted are not professional, it’s my opinion that Deandre should be RB1 for the Gators in 2025. Yeah, Harlem Berry is elite.
But Desinor’s tape and numbers are just stupid.
Let me start with what jumped out to me immediately, which was his speed. The number of plays on his tape where he seemed dead to rights and surrounded by defenders, just for him to break out and score with nobody even close to him is crazy.
He accelerates as fast as a Tesla and his top gear is something not a lot of guys have. Deandre has confirmed times of 10.87 in the 100m and 23.24 in the 200m. But his speed on the field is something different.
In his sophomore season, he carried the ball 117 times for 1,248 yards (10.7 YPC), and 16 touchdowns, averaging over 130 yards per game.
Oh, he also caught a touchdown, had a pick-six as a corner, brought a punt back to the house, and took two kickoffs all the way back. He’s a touchdown machine.
Miami has the lead for him per On3 with a 51.6% chance to land him, followed by Florida at 16% and FSU at 13.7%.
As I said, Deandre should be at the top of Billy Napier’s RB board. He’s visited campus once in April of this year, but the Gators will need to lock down an official visit to keep up.
This is a recruitment we’ll be following very closely.
