Florida Football Overrated Opponents: South Carolina

Following wins over Tennessee and Clemson, South Carolina enters the 2023 season just outside of the top 25 in both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll.

The SEC Media Poll has the Gamecocks picked third in the SEC East.

There is a lot of positive momentum surrounding Shane Beamer and crew, but there is just one question we have to ask.

Who was the team that beat South Carolina 38-6 the week before the Tennessee game?

One can’t run a narrative that Florida was a garbage team last season while simultaneously propping up a South Carolina team that got turned into a Desmond Watson meme.

Patrick Toney couldn’t stop anyone last year, and even he found a way to shut down Spencer Rattler and crew.

Much like the Kentucky game, if one believes that Florida is going to go at least 6-6 this season, it has to include a win over the Gamecocks.
