Florida football recruiting is starting to see the return on their early investments in the 2025 class, making the first cut for a couple of big recruits.

They made the list for 5-star DJ Pickett two nights ago and made another finalists list last night as well.

Keylan Moses, a 4-star linebacker out of Baton Rouge, Lousiana, named his top eight schools last night, and the Gators made the cut.

The other teams on his list were LSU, Notre Dame, Tennessee, FSU, Alabama, Texas, and Oregon.

Florida football recruiting: Fast and violent

Moses has some good-looking plays on his highlight reel. He primarily gets reps at outside linebacker or off the edge as a pass rusher and does a good job in both spots.

As an OLB, he has good instincts and does a good job of reading the quarterback’s eyes in pass coverage. He reacts quickly to passes completed in front of him and closes quickly.

Off the edge is where I thought he looked even better. He’s a natural pass rusher and is able to weave through the offensive line without breaking his stride.

Keylan is explosive enough that he’s also able to just run around the offensive tackle and crash toward a QB dropping back.

Being from Baton Rouge, it isn’t hard to figure out why LSU is the heavy favorite to land him. The Tigers have a 96% chance to secure his commitment per On3’s RPM, and every other school is below the 1% mark.

Moses has taken two trips to The Swamp already, so he’s already loosely familiar with the program. But if the Gators want a real shot at plucking him from LSU’s backyard they’ll have to get him onboard for an official visit.

The Gators have been flexing their muscles recruiting linebackers all of 2024, and have the chance to make a big splash in Moses’ recruitment.
