Most of the eyeballs watching the Gators this fall will be there for the two running backs,

Trevor Etienne

and

Montrell Johnson

.

These two guys were both new to the program last season and immediately let us all know that they’re here to make a difference, and make some defenders look silly while they do it.

Etienne is quicker and more shifty, while Johnson is a bowling ball who wrecks through tacklers. They could both be RB 1 on a lot of other teams.

And this fall, at least one of them will be in the top-ten players that receive votes for the Heisman trophy.

In my opinion, Etienne is the more likely guy to make that climb. As I said, he’s quicker and more explosive, meaning he has a better chance to pop off on big runs that catch the attention of the voters. He isn’t afraid to put his head down and lay the boom on a defender either.

Montrell could also make that climb, but it would take a lot more speed and elusiveness that I’m not sure he’ll be able to pick up in one off-season. Believe me, I love Montrell and this is not a dig at his game at all.

But when you look at Heisman potential, Trevor Etienne stands out.
