Florida Football Recruiting: Isaiah Campbell is a big man that can move
One of the common traits that the recruiting class of 2024 for Florida football has is speed. Their wide receiver group, for example, could go out and win a state title in the 4 X 100 if they teamed up.
As Billy Napier looks ahead to his 2025 class, he offered a four-star prospect that also has speed.
It just so happens that Isaiah Campbell is a defensive lineman with speed.
Florida Football: Looks can be deceiving
Listed at 6’4″ and 250/260 pounds depending on the recruiting service (with his Twitter bio claiming 6’5″ and 265 pounds), Campbell is a four-star defensive lineman from all four services out of North Carolina. ESPN has him as a top 100 player in the class of 2025, while Rivals has him outside the top 200.
Immediately what stands out with Campbell is his first step burst off the line. Playing inside as a defensive tackle, he still bulldozes his way through guards and centers with minimal resistance. We talk about whether a prospect pops out immediately, and Campbell checks that box.
And once he bursts through, his pursuit of the QB is outstanding. He lists a 4.69-second 40-yard dash on his Hudl profile, and it is believable. Despite being a defensive tackle, there are times when it feels like he is the fastest player on the field.

He also took to the track a couple of times, and while he doesn’t have any individual times that are verified, he definitely looked the part.
With two years of high school to go, there is still plenty of time to figure out if he stays inside or moves to the edge (which he has the size to play right now).
