Florida football recruiting is wrapping up the 2024 class, starting to talk with the 2025 class, and is also beginning to offer the 2026 class.

After hosting a versatile athlete on campus a few days ago, the Gators extended an offer to a 2026 RB, who they’re actually recruiting to play DB.

Tyriq Green, out of Marietta, Georgia, is the latest 2026 player to land an offer from Billy Napier and the Gators.

Florida is looking to go north and take one from the Bulldogs in ’26.

Florida football recruiting: Doesn’t play like a freshman

Green has only finished his freshman year of high school. But the fact that he’s already getting attention from schools like Florida and Georgia tell you all you need to know about the way he plays.

Standing at 5’11-190, Green is a physical force out on the field. He gets run as a gunner on kickoffs and pops blockers out of their pads on his way to the ball carrier.

Tyriq is a tough runner offensively, and it always takes more than one guy to bring him down. He already has great field sense for a freshman and keeps his motor going through contact until the whistle blows.

Defensively, where the Gators are recruiting him, has a knack for the ball, with great instincts in the secondary who can always sniff out the ball. He crashes down with ferocity and makes the ball carrier feel him when he lays the hit.

Don’t pay a whole lot of attention to the current predictions for Tyriq, as there are still multiple years before his recruitment will end. But Georgia and Florida currently sit at the top of his recruitment with UGA at No. 1.

This very well could be a two-team battle between the Dawgs and the Gators, and based on how established UGA is and the direction that Florida is headed in, that would be quite the battle.
