Florida football is undefeated against these Big 12 teams
The Gators don’t run into many Big 12 teams over the course of their yearly schedule, which is a shame because, with all the talent that conference has, there could be some very tight games. But when they have faced off, Florida football has consistently gotten the better of four of their squads.
Baylor – Florida and Baylor have only squared off once, and you have to go way back to 1960 to find the game. The Gators beat the Bears 13-12 in the Gator Bowl, in a season where the Gators went 9-2 and finished ranked 18th in the AP Poll.
Cincinnati – I almost forgot to include Cincinnati in the Big 12 section, and still feel like it doesn’t count. But whatever. The Gators are 2-0 against the Bearcats, beating them first in 1984 at home by a score of 48-17, and then most recently in the 2010 Sugar Bowl, blowing them out 51-24.
Kansas State – Florida has played K-State twice, both at home, but both games were quite a while back. Their first meeting was in 1947, where the Gators handled business 25-7. Their second game was in 1973, also at The Swamp, where the Gators improved to 2-0 over the Wildcats with a 21-10 win.
Oklahoma St – The Gators have only squared off the the Cowboys once, back in week one of the 1990 season. In The Swamp, Florida blew Okie State out by a score of 50-7. That started a season where the Gators would go 9-2 and finish ranked 13th in the AP Poll.
