Florida Baseball commits that went pro: Jake Woodford

The 2015 class for the Florida Gators included key contributors to the 2017 national championship squad, including Jonathan India, Brady Singer, and Michael Byrne.

Jake Woodford could have been a part of the fun but instead opted to sign with the St. Louid Cardinals after being drafted 39th overall in 2015.

Woodford progressed through the minor leagues relatively quickly for a high school prospect and made his MLB debut in 2020 at the age of 23 in front of zero fans.

Because reasons.

Since 2020, he has bounced back and forth between St. Louis and their AAA affiliate Memphis.

After beginning the season as a starter for the Cardinals, he has since been related to bullpen duty and made his last appearance on June 29.

He has a career ERA in the big leagues of 4.08 with a 10-6 record.
