Florida football recruiting continues to add to their impressive 2024 haul seemingly every week, but still have some sets of eyes on the 2025 class.

We’ve already talked about some of the elite prospects that the Gators are trending for, but that list didn’t include Hylton Stubbs.

Stubbs is a top-ten safety and top-100 player in the 2025 class, and the Gators currently lead for him per On3’s RPM.

As the 2025 class comes into focus when the calendar turns, expect Hylton to become a priority in-state target for Billy Napier and the Gators.

Florida football recruiting: Don’t let go of the rope

As I said, the Gators have the early lead for Hylton as his recruitment begins to heat up. On3’s RPM gives the Gators a 53.6% chance to land Stubbs, with the second team being FSU at 10.1%.

Hylton’s recruitment could very well end up being an in-state battle, but teams like Georgia and Tennessee are also after him.

Stubbs is shaping up to be one of the top defensive prospects in his cycle.

On3’s Industry Ranking has him ranked as the 73rd-best player in the country, the 7th-best safety in his class, and the 13th-best player coming out of Florida.

Stubbs already measures very well as a sophomore, standing at 6’2”-175. Obviously, he’ll need to add some more mass before he can be a safety in college, but he has two years to put on the weight before he even gets to campus.

Hylton has already made five trips to The Swamp, including two in June. He’s only taken one visit each to the rest of the schools he’s seen, like FSU, UGA, and Tennessee.

The Gators may be trending early for the in-state safety, but that won’t mean anything if they don’t recruit him well for the next year and a half.

He’s definitely a guy to keep an eye on in the 2025 class.
