Running back is one position group that Florida football seems to be in good hands with. But while Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne should give the Gators all the stability they need for 2023, the duo will be gone by the time 2025 rolls around.

So while Billy Napier and his staff will have work to do to wrestle class of 2025 running back Ousmane Kromah away from Florida State, the film for Kromah showcases why the Gators made him an official offer yesterday.

Florida Football: Not down even in flag

Kromah is a four-star prospect out of Leesburg, GA. Listed at 6’1″ and 210 pounds, he is already built to be a bruising back even before he hits a college weight room.

The thing is, on film for Kromah, he doesn’t need to use his size to bowl over defenders to gain yards. He will do it when given the opportunity, but he relies more on quick feet in the hole to find the opening to burst through.

It oftentimes looks like even if he were playing flag football, defenders would have a hard time getting a hand on his flag to mark him down.

His overall speed on film is good as he is able to get to the edge at times, but we wouldn’t classify it as elite. And as with all running backs, his ability to pick up pass protection assignments will dictate his playing time.

But again, at 210 pounds heading into his junior year of high school, one wouldn’t expect him to need elite speed to be effective, and he does show a willingness on film to seek out contact for downfield blocks.

On paper, FSU is the front runner as Kromah has made three unofficial visits to Tallahassee since October, including one on June 10.

But, if Napier can get Kromah on campus for a visit to see the vastly improved Florida football facilities, he might be able to turn the tide towards the Gators.
