Florida football recruiting: Gators offer top-10 RB in the 2025 class
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting is still working on finalizing its 2024 recruiting class, but they’re already looking forward to the 2025 class, and working on offering some of the best talent in that cycle.
Yesterday they offered two of the best running backs in the country, one of which was Alvin Henderson.
Henderson is coming out of Elba, Alabama, and is rated as a top-ten player coming out of his home state.
Watching him play on film makes you think he should almost be ranked even higher.
Florida football recruiting: Always in scoring position
Yes I know, always in scoring position is a baseball phrase. But it’s pretty applicable when you’re watching Alvin run the ball.
He gets a lot of snaps out of the wildcat when the defenses know that he’s going to take off and run. But they still can’t come close to stopping him.
Henderson’s vision is elite, and he sees holes in the defense way before they form. Plus he has big-league breakaway speed and effortlessly glides past every level of the defense.
In his sophomore season with Elba, he carried the ball 195 times for 2,636 yards and 47 touchdowns. That’s 13.5 yards per carry. Those are video game numbers.
He really is a threat to score from any yard line and turns something into nothing at will.
The two teams currently at the top of Alvin’s recruitment are his home state teams Auburn and Alabama. The Tigers lead per On3’s RPM with a 79.2% chance to land Henderson’s services, and the Tide are in second with 7.8%.
Billy Napier and the Gators have plenty of work to do in Alvin’s recruitment and plenty of time to do it. He’s yet to make a visit to campus, but that will change in the coming months.
The goal for the Gators will be to secure an official visit from Alvin to really separate from the rest of the pack, and turn into one of his top schools.
Henderson will be one of the best offensive recruits at whichever school he chooses.
