Florida football recruiting: Armondo Blount – DL

If you guys liked what you saw with DJ Pickett, get ready for what I’m about to tell you about Armondo Blount.

The DL out of Miami, Florida is a composite five-star, and everyone is pretty much on board with how good this guy is.

On3’s Industry Ranking has him as the third-best player in the country, the second-best DL, and the best player coming out of Florida.

After you watch his film, those rankings are justified.

Armondo is 6’4”-250, but if I just showed you tape of how he moved around the field, you’d think he was a running back or a wideout.

He moves so quickly and fluidly off the edge of the DL that it’s unfair. His ability to track down ball carriers is exceptional, and not something you typically see from a big man.

But that speed doesn’t come at the expense of a different attribute. Blount has the strength to push anybody around and looks simply unblockable on the field.

Offensive linemen can’t stay in front of him, and ball carriers can’t get away from him.

The Gators have hosted Blount on campus four times, and lead for him per On3’s RPM.

A word of advice for the Gators: Don’t let this guy get away. If Blount is making the Gators’ defense elite, he’ll be doing it for a different team, and likely one that the Gators will have to face.
