Florida football recruiting biggest flips: Jalen Tabor (2014-2016)

Jalen Tabor, better known as Teez, was another addition to the long list of elite DBs that have played for the Florida Gators, but it almost didn’t turn out that way.

Ranked as the 19th-best player in the class of 2014, and the third-best CB in his cycle, Tabor was committed to go play for Arizona and was just a few days away from becoming their highest-rated signee of all time.

So what worked to change his mind and make him come play for Florida?

For that, we can give credit to Joe Haden, whose connection with Teez, as well as his lifelong dream to play for the Gators, were able to swing him to flip to UF just a week after his commitment to AZ.

As a Gator, Tabor worked with Quincy Wilson to form a dynamic duo at corner and make life brutal for opposing quarterbacks.

Teez’s best year was his sophomore season in 2015. He racked up 40 tackles, four for a loss and a sack, as well as picking off four passes and bringing two back to the house.

Not to take away from his final year in Gainesville where he had 33 tackles, one sack, three INTs, and another pick-six.

Tabor was another addition to the long line of great corners to play for the Gators and was part of the nasty Muschamp defenses.

Now Teez is making his way around the NFL after being drafted by the Lions and has had a solid start to his pro career.
