Florida football recruiting: Gators putting full-court press on 4-star corner
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting currently sits at No. 3 in the country in the 2024 cycle, and they still have their eyes on several elite players to add to the class.
One of those guys is a 4-star corner out of Lilburn, Georgia, who’s a consensus top-200 player in his class.
The Gators are putting the full-court press on Jalyn Crawford, who’s already taken two trips to The Swamp including an official visit back in June.
But the Gators still have plenty of work to do if they want to secure Crawford’s signature come signing day.
Florida football recruiting: Gators not taking their foot off the gas
The Gators and DB coach Corey Raymond are in daily contact with Jalyn, and making sure he feels the love from Gainesville.
After his OV on June 2nd, Crawford said this to On3:
“Florida was a vibe. I could see myself living down there in Gainesville and being a Florida Gator.”
Those are some nice words, but saying that you could see yourself being there and making the decision are two very different things.
For right now, the Gators have a lot of work to do if they want to crawl into Jalyn’s favorites. Auburn is currently the heavy favorite per On3’s RPM with a 71% chance to land him, with LSU behind them at 22.9% and UF in third with 1.2%.
Jalyn has taken OV’s to all three of those schools, with the most recent trip being to Baton Rouge.
Like a couple of other high-profile recruitments, the Gators are trying to sneak into this one late and steal a good player away from some great programs.
Billy Napier and Corey Raymond both have their work cut out for them as they keep going after Jalyn. But like I’ve said, don’t count the Gators out of any recruitment.
