Florida football passing leaders – No. 6: Kerwin Bell, 7,585 yards

Kerwin Bell quarterbacked the Gators from 1984 to 1987, and he comes in at number six all-time on the Gators’ leaderboard.

Bell had a pretty consistent career in the orange and blue, but his sophomore year in 1985 is when he broke out.

With a completion percentage of 62.5%, 2,687 yards, and 21 touchdowns to eight picks, Kerwin had one of the best seasons in football that year.

He led the country in pass yards per attempt (9.3) and passing efficiency rating (159.4), and also led the SEC in passing yards, completion percentage, passing touchdowns, and touchdowns responsible for.

Bell also won the 1984 SEC player of the year as a freshman, before he even showed us all of his best stuff.

After being drafted in the 7th round by the Dolphins in 1988, Kerwin had to wait until 1996 when he got to Indianapolis to see the field.

In the one game he appeared in, he went 5-5 for 75 yards and a touchdown. A flawless career, even if it only lasted a few minutes of game time.
