Florida football: Top 10 all-time passing leaders in Gators history
By Will Thomas
Florida football passing leaders – No. 8: Kyle Trask, 7,386 yards
I didn’t have to go digging into the depths of Google to find stats for this guy. Kyle Trask is the 8th leading passer in Gator history and would be way higher on the list if he had even two whole years as the starter.
I don’t need to do a whole lot for you guys to remember what Trask did. He came in for Feleipe Franks after he was injured in 2019, and immediately stole the show.
He threw for 2,941 yards in about three-quarters of a season in 2019, and the blew the doors off the country in 2020.
During that ten-game season, Kyle led the country in pass attempts, touchdowns responsible for (46), and passing touchdowns (43), and was second in passing yards only to Mac Jones of Alabama.
But with those numbers, he put up in a shortened season, can you imagine this guy’s totals if he got to start for three regular seasons?
Going from a two-star recruit to top ten in UF’s history is remarkable, and it’s even more amazing to know how quickly he did it.
Now, Kyle is in Tampa Bay playing QB for the Bucs. Since Tom Brady has (allegedly) finally retired, Trask is in good shape to earn the starting job for Tampa and show the NFL what we Gator fans already know.
Trask threw one of the prettiest balls that The Swamp has ever seen. He’ll have all of Gator nation behind him as the pursues his NFL career.
