Florida football recruiting has found a lot of success over the past few days in the class of 2024, landing nine commitments over the past eight days.

But Billy Napier and his staff aren’t getting caught up in their recent successes, and are keeping their eyes on some of the top talent in the 2025 class.

One of those guys that caught the eye of the Gators’ staff, and for good reason, is the top running back in the class.

Today, the Gators extended an offer to Harlem Berry.

Florida football recruiting: A special talent out of Louisiana

You don’t just waltz your way to the top running back spot, and an early top-20 ranking in the country on accident. Harlem is special.

Before I get into what he does well, here are his numbers from his sophomore season.

193 carries for 2,237 yards and 37 touchdowns. As a sophomore.

What’s amazing about those numbers is that when you watch his film, his offensive line doesn’t look to be doing him many favors.

On almost every play Berry is hopping around and slipping multiple defenders. His ability to wiggle out of tackles and change directions is just ridiculous, and his field vision is outstanding.

When he does get open space to explode, he’s got some great speed to complement his mobility. He has times of 10.57 in the 100m and 21.43 in the 200m, as well as a 40-yard dash time of 4.38.

That’s some crazy speed for a guy heading into his junior year of high school.

He doesn’t sacrifice speed for strength either. We’ve already talked about how good he is at escaping tacklers with hands on him, but he’s also shown to be a willing and capable blocker, running over linebackers out wide and not shying away from any contact.

As the 2025 rankings develop, Berry will absolutely become a 5-star prospect. No top-20 player and No. 1 RB stays as a 4-star.

LSU has an early lead for their in-state stud, and Texas is the other team currently in the mix. But with how good Florida football recruiting has been going, as well as showing their willingness and ability to run the ball well, Gainesville could be an attractive place for Harlem.

Let’s let Napier and his staff work.
