Florida football recruiting: Gators trending for 5-star Jamonta Waller
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting has a chance to extend on their already ridiculous run of commits over the past three days.
They’ve added six priority targets to move their class up to the consensus top five in the country, and are making a push to close out with one of the best in the nation.
The best part is that the Gators may not even be done with this sprint of commits.
Over the past hour or so, the Gators have been trending to land 5-star Jamonta Waller.
Florida football recruiting: Billy Napier’s revenge
After Ole Miss flipped Austin Simmons, Lane Kiffin had some words on Twitter for the Gators. He tweeted that he was listening to Tom Petty with the line “Great weekend vibes”.
Austin Simmons also retweeted it.
But mad Billy Napier may be one of the best recruiters in the nation. He went on the tear that we’ve talked about, and may not be finished.
Waller, out of Picayune, Mississippi, has been a priority target for Ole Miss ever since his recruitment started, and the Rebs have been the favorite for some time.
But tonight, multiple insiders and experts logged predictions on On3 that Waller would end up being a Gator.
Per On3’s RPM, Florida now has a 74.5% chance to land the elite defender, and Ole Miss’ chances have been reduced to 20%.
Waller, a top-ten LB in the 2024 class and the second-best player coming out of Mississippi, would be a major addition to the Gators’ class, and feel pretty sweet for Florida’s staff and fans.
It would also just about solidify the Gators in the top spot for LB recruiting in the country. The Gators already have 4th, 5th, and 9th best LBs in the cycle, with the potential to add the 7th in Waller.
If Jamonta does commit to the Gators, the rest of the country better look out.
