Florida football recruiting: Gators in top ten for top-200 player in 2024
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting is still doing these behind the scenes while they host big visitors’ weekends and the Gator baseball team makes a run to the Super Regionals.
A couple of days ago they made the top ten schools for a top-200 player, and a top-15 offensive lineman in the 2024 class.
The player we’re talking about is Eddy Pierre-Louis, a big pass blocker out of Tampa, Florida.
Other schools that made his top ten include Alabama, USC, Georgia, Texas A&M, and others.
The Gators currently sit in a good spot for Pierre-Louis with a lot of things going their way. First, Eddy is the brother of former Gator Richie Gouraige who played the same position, so Pierre-Louis is already familiar with the program.
The Gators have also received the most visits from Eddy than any other school with eight, and the closest to them is UCF who’s hosted him five times.
Pierre-Louis only has one official visit scheduled to this point which is to go see Oklahoma this upcoming weekend.
Despite not having an OV in place, the Gators do still lead for Eddy according to On3’s RPM, with a 33.8% chance to land him, followed by UCF at 18.6% and Oklahoma at 9.7%.
Pierre-Louis is ranked as the 195th-best player in the country on 247 Sports, and the 12th-best IOL in his class. He’s also the 29th-best player coming out of Florida.
Standing at 6’3”-335, Eddy has a powerful build and has used his strength on both sides of the ball, also being an effective DL to Tampa Catholic.
Eddy would be the Gators’ first commit on the offensive line of the 2024 cycle, and the first guy signing on to block for DJ Lagway.
They sit in a good spot for him now, but we’ll see if Billy Napier and the Gators can seal the deal.
