Florida football is hosting a plethora of elite recruits on campus this weekend, including 5-star wide receiver and Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith.

The Gators have been hard at work trying to flip Jeremiah for months, primarily behind the efforts of 5-star Gator commit DJ Lagway.

Before their visit this weekend, Lagway and Smith attended the On3 NIL Elite Series in Nashville, along with loads of the top players in the 2024 class.

While they were there, On3 got to ask the recruits some questions about where their recruitment stands. Jeremiah took to the mic to answer a few of those for the reporters.

Here’s what the conversation was like about the Gators:

On3: “He [DJ Lagway] has been recruiting you pretty hard. Now DJ told me he was going to be in Gainesville this weekend for his official [visit], you’re going to be in Gainesville this weekend for your official [visit], what are you looking to see in Gainesville from the Gators?”

Jeremiah: “Really just sit down with Coach Billy Napier and Coach Billy G, and just have a great talk with them about the program and everything. I mean last time I visited I had a great time, they really set the bar high with that visit for sure. I mean Florida is definitely a threat right now.”

How about that last sentence? Florida is definitely a threat right now.

Just a few days ago Smith tweeted this out…

But based on that interview that lock hasn’t clicked into place yet.

With all that Lagway and Napier are doing, as well as the momentum that the Gators will gain from this weekend, it’s impossible to deny their chances at flipping Smith.

It isn’t easy to take an elite wideout away from Ohio State, but the Gators are certainly up for the challenge.
