Florida football: What is the Gators’ ideal eight game schedule?

Florida vs LSU doesn’t carry nearly the same weight as their game against Georgia does, but this is still one of the bigger rivalries in the SEC.

It seems that whenever these two teams play each other in any sport, we get a finish for the ages.

Between the hashes, we’ve seen Brad Stewart pick off Joe Burrow for a game-sealing pick-six to knock off the top-five Tigers.

We saw the Gators’ defense make a miraculous stop on an LSU run game that had been unstoppable all day at the one-yard line, to not only clinch the game but also the SEC East.

That game provided one of the funniest shots of all time too of Neyland after all the fans saw the final score of our game flash on their screen.

In other years we got to see Kyle Trask and Joe Burrow go back and forth in Death Valley with two of the best offenses in the country before the Tigers eventually came out on top.

The point is, these games are always fun to watch for more than just the fans of either team.

It’s also hard to erase this game from the schedule from the SEC’s point of view because you have two teams that are traditionally on top of the league, and who don’t like each other very much.

When we see that special on June 14th when the league unveils the 2024 schedules, expect to see the Gators and Tigers renew their rivalry.
