Florida Gators baseball is coming off a loss to Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament semifinals, but they are still regarded as one of the best teams in the country.

The Gators will host a regional starting on Friday, where they’ll face FAMU to start the regional, while Texas Tech and UCONN battle it out on the other side of the four-team bracket.

But the Gators aren’t just looking to come out of their home regional. They have their eyes set on a bigger prize out west in Omaha.

The Gators last won the CWS in 2017, and are getting ready to make another push at the title this season.

Being one of the best teams in the country comes with high expectations. The Gators certainly have those as they rank as the 4th-favorite to win the whole thing.

Fanduel says that the Gators’ odds of taking home the title are +950, behind Wake Forest, LSU, and Arkansas, in that order.

At first glance, this is some pretty good value. The Gators are coming out of the best conference in baseball in the SEC, earning the number one seed at the conference tourney and making it to the semis before losing to Vandy, who they had beaten a few days earlier in Hoover.

It’s very easy to get excited about UF in the postseason, given their offensive firepower and their ability to come back in any game, which we got to see in Hoover.

As long as the Gators’ arms can keep the other team at bay, there’s nobody they can’t beat.

And if they do get behind, just give the bat to B.T. Riopelle. He knows what to do.

One thing is for sure: the Gators will be exciting to watch in the postseason.

Keep up with Florida Gators baseball at Hail Florida Hail.
