Florida basketball targets at forward

Asa Newell

Asa is one of the best players in the country, rated as a 5-star on three of four services, and a consensus top-five power forward.

Newell has already visited the Gators, in September of last year, but Florida is currently third on the favorites list for the talented big man.

Expect Golden and the Gators to go after him with all they got.

Sammie Yeanay

Yeaney, from Compass Prep in Gainesville, is a 4-star and a top-20 forward in the class of 2024.

The Gators do currently lead for the 6’9” big man and have already hosted him for a visit in July of last year.

Sammie is a guy that the Gators should be able to close on.

VJ Edgecomb

VJ is listed as either an SG or SF based on where you look, but everyone agrees he’s a great player and one of the top 40 in the country.

Being from Long Island means that the Gators will have to beat out St. John’s and a few other northern schools for his services.

VJ would be a great fit in Golden’s scheme and is a guy that the Gators will go hard after.
