Florida basketball is looking forward to year two under Todd Golden after an underwhelming debut season. It seemed that whenever the Gators got some momentum rolling, they took a few steps back and were right back where they started.

And when Colin Castleton went down with a broken hand, the season was pretty much mailed in, and the Gators turned their attention to next season.

Despite all the negatives of last season, it’s hard to not get excited about this upcoming campaign, and the future of the program under Golden.

Todd did a fantastic job working the transfer portal over the offseason, bringing in tons of talent to fill the gaps left by players who are now gone.

Bringing in Walter Clayton Jr. from Iona gives the Gators an experienced point guard who has proven scoring ability. EJ Jarvis from Yale gives the Gators both size inside and perimeter scoring, while Micah Handolgten from Marshall gives the Gators a giant in the paint who has a sky-high ceiling.

Not to mention the returning talent of Will Richard, and a superstar in the making in Riley Kugel. There’s a whole lot to be excited about in Gainesville.

But even with all of these new additions, you can’t overlook good ol’ high school recruiting, and Golden is doing a good job of staying focused.

The Gators have reached out to many elite players in the 2024 class, several of which already have visits planned to come to see the Gators.

Here are the Gators’ 2024 recruiting targets broken down by position.
