Florida football may be closing in on adding another elite recruit to their already impressive 2024 class.

They’ve been trending up for a couple of their priority guys for a few weeks now and may be near the finish line for one of them.

Yesterday, the Gators received two On3 predictions to land Amir Jackson, a 4-star tight end out of Portal, Georgia.

The two predictions increased the Gators’ On3 RPM from 60.4% to 94.7% chances to land Amir.

And good thing that the Gators have such great odds to secure him because he’s an awesome talent in the 2024 class.

Amir is a two-way player for Portal, getting snaps at both tight end and safety, but the Gators are recruiting him to be solely a tight end.

247 is the only site that doesn’t have him as a top-ten tight end in the country, but On3’s industry rankings have him right at 10th in the country among tight ends, and the 123rd-best player in the class.

Jackson stands at 6’5”-210 but moves like a much smaller receiver. He’s very quick and agile in the open field, with the ability to make defenders miss and then accelerate out of their reach.

Plus, he uses his height to catch the ball over not one, but two defenders multiple times on his tape. Being both a jump ball and open-field threat makes him dynamic in any offense.

With DJ Lagway committed, Billy Napier has been searching for elite pass catchers to pair with his five-star QB.

He’s still going after top guys like Jeremiah Smith, but landing a guy like Amir is no settle.

Jackson has an official visit scheduled for June 16th, so it’s possible we’ll see him commit then while he’s on campus.

Regardless of when it happens, Jackson would be a great addition to UF’s class.
