Florida football recruiting: Gators offer 4-star UGA commit in 2025
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting is doing a great job of digging themselves into the 2025 recruiting class early so they don’t let elite guys slip away before they take their shot.
But they can’t catch everyone early and have to play from behind on a few prospects.
One of those guys is Justus Terry, a Georgia commit in the ’25 cycle, who the Gators offered yesterday.
Terry is a 4-star player across the industry and for good reason.
According to 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings, Terry is the 19th-best player in the country, the 3rd-best DL in his class, and the 5th-best player coming out of Georgia.
Justus has an elite combination of size and quickness that has been serving him well during his high school career.
At 6’5”-275, Terry is terrifying when he gets off the bus, and that size obviously brings strength and power when he lines up.
But Justus is deceptively quick and has a fiery first step. He shoots gaps in the OL easily, can chase down ball carriers from sideline to sideline, and has a great swim move to get to the backfield.
Having the skillset to both chase down ball carriers anywhere on the field and lay big hits with his size is special, and not something a lot of guys have.
As I said earlier, Terry is committed to Kirby Smart and Georgia right now, so Billy Napier has some work to do if he wants to steal him.
Out of Manchester, Georgia, Justus has been committed to the Dawgs since January, and we know how dominant UGA has been on the trail in recent years.
But with all the momentum that the Gators are gaining on the trail, it’s hard to count them out for a guy with over a year left in his recruitment.
We’ll see what the Gators can do.
