No. 2: Florida football vs Utah

I was so close to putting this number one, but I’m sure you all can guess who ended up taking that spot.

Opening the year on the road is never great. Opening the year almost all the way across the country is a little worse. And opening the year on the road against a team that wants nothing more than to embarrass you out of revenge is pretty bad.

The Gators ended Utah’s playoff hopes 60 minutes into last season when they pulled off the thrilling upset in week one at home.

Now, they have to fly out to Salt Lake City for a Thursday night showdown.

It doesn’t help that Utah gets a lot of their best players back. QB Cam Rising returns for his final year, and elite tight end Brant Kuithe is back.

Those guys will want to hang 100 on us.

But looking at it the other way, this is a chance for Billy Napier and the Gators to pronounce themselves back.

I’m generally against moral victories, but a one-score loss is not a bad sign here for the Gators. And a win would be incredible.
