Florida football recruiting is in a really good position right now, and it seems that only better days are on the horizon.

Billy Napier has the program trending in the right direction, and these recruits all see that. One guy that has bought in more than most is 5-star QB DJ Lagway, who committed to the Gators back in December.

Ever since he pledged to come to UF he’s been one of the most aggressive recruiters in the nation, making trips just to be on campus at the same time as other targets, and making pushes on social media.

The most recent development was a quote from one of the top defenders in the class of 2024, Colin Simmons. Simmons is a 5-star DL coming out of Duncanville, Texas, and said that Lagway was recruiting him better than most schools.

That’s pretty high praise for one guy, who’s still in high school, to say he’s out recruiting schools that put millions of dollars into recruiting.

We’ve already seen DJ’s recruiting ability pay dividends to the Gators. He was key in getting 5-star safety Xavier Filsaime to commit to the Gators, as well as playing a role in the recruitment of Adarius Hayes.

His work isn’t done yet.

As I said earlier he’s hard on the tail of Colin Simmons, trying to use their Texas connection to bring him to The Swamp.

Also, I don’t need to tell you guys anymore about how hard he’s working to flip Jeremiah Smith, a 5-star wideout currently committed to Ohio State.

And it seems like he’s making progress.

As if it wasn’t enough already Lagway is also in the ear of Dealyn Evans, a DL currently committed to Texas A&M.

Is Lagway going to flip or land every guy he’s talking to? No.

But as long as he’s working with Napier, no recruit is safe.

They’re coming for all of your 5 stars.
