Florida Football Recruiting Busts 2022: Tony Livingston

Dan Mullen’s final official recruiting class was in 2021, but a number of the players from the 2022 class committed to Florida while Mullen was still the coach.

The class finished 17th nationally, and Florida is paying the price for it. The group only finished with five players ranked in the top 300 and seven four-stars.

So while Tony Livingston is rated far lower than many of the other prospects on our list, he is, to this point, the most disappointing prospect from the 2022 class.

He played OT in high school, and Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports said of Livingston that “An adequate route runner with soft hands, but viewed by many college recruiters as a future right or left tackle given how he moves down the field.”

But after signing with Florida in December of 2021, he didn’t enroll on campus until January of 2023. Already, Bill Napier is looking at Livingston as a tight end rather than a tackle, but even with the injuries at tight end, it doesn’t appear that Livingston is in line to be a mainstay TE for Florida.

There is still plenty of time for Livingston, but the early returns are questionable.
