Florida Football Recruiting Busts 2020: Jahari Rogers

There were four top 100 prospects to come from the class of 2020, ranked 7th in the country by 247 Sports. Gervon Dexter panned out and is now a member of the Chicago Bears.

Xzavier Henderson didn’t quite pan out, but at least he had his moments as a useful player.

Derek Wingo also hasn’t made a splash yet but is still working hard with the team to find playing time.

The biggest bust from this group has to be top 100 defensive back Jahari Rogers.

Ranked 87th nationally, Rogers lasted one season in Gainesville, appearing in three games during the 2020 season.

He then transferred to SMU in 2021 and actually had a solid 2021 campaign, making eight pass breakups for the Mustangs.

His numbers dipped, however, in 2022, and he lost his starting job.

Ourlads.Com does not project Rogers to be a starter in 2023 either.

To go from a top 100 prospect to a backup in the AAC is not what most players aspire for.
