Florida Softball Letdowns: A sixth inning disaster in Knoxville
Tennessee has had a great season and are entering the NCAA Tournament as the number four overall seed and champions of the SEC.
This made the matchup between Florida and Tennessee on April 23 a golden opportunity for Florida to get a Tier One win in convincing fashion.
Similar to the South Carolina game, Florida went into the bottom of the sixth inning 9-4 after jumping on the Lady Vols early.
The meltdown happened even faster this time around as eight straight hitters reached base, only four of which were the result of a hit, and by the time the nightmare was over, it was 11-9 in favor of Tennessee.
A Skylar Wallace solo home run made it 11-10, but Florida got no closer and blew its chance.
