Florida football recruiting: Gators getting visit from 5-star WR, OSU commit
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting has a thing for elite wide receivers committed to Ohio State, which makes a lot of sense given that the Buckeyes have been producing NFL wideouts left and right.
Because of that, it’s hard to flip pass catchers from going to Columbus. But Billy Napier and the Gators aren’t giving up.
As the recruitment of Jeremiah Smith continues, the Gators are also trying to make a push for OSU’s other 5-star wideout, Mylan Graham.
Not to be confused with current Gator commit LB Myles Graham.
247 Sports Composite Rankings have Graham ranked as the 19th-best player in the country, the 4th-best wide receiver in the 2024 class, and the top player coming out of Indiana.
When you turn on the tape, you almost wonder why Graham isn’t ranked higher. He’s downright elite with the ball in his hands.
He can change direction and lose a defender as well as Kadarius Toney and has stupid breakaway speed that not many guys in the country can keep up with.
He sort of looks like Devonta Smith when you watch him, with his lengthy frame and effortless stride, as well as his ability to find space in the defense to get the ball.
In the 2022 season, he totaled 48 catches for 1,149 yards and 13 touchdowns.
If you couldn’t tell by how I’ve compared him to two NFL wideouts here, I’m pretty high on Graham’s talent and what he can do in college.
I just hope Napier finds a way to make him do it for Florida rather than the Buckeyes.
This visit he’s taking will be a quick one, but will be his first time in Gainesville and perhaps a good teaser to set up a longer visit over the summer.
There’s a universe out there somewhere where both Graham and Jeremiah Smith flip to come to play with DJ Lagway.
Let’s hope it’s this one.
Keep up with Florida football recruiting at Hail Florida Hail.
