SEC power rankings after Spring Practice: It’s complicated in Gainesville

Best Recruiting Class Last Four Years: 1st (2022)

Transfer Portal: 9th in SEC

All the metrics for Texas A&M are actually quite positive for the Aggies. They had the nation’s best recruiting class in 2022, and ESPN and Draft Kings both think an 8-4 season is very realistic for Jimbo and crew.

But we’ve seen this song and dance out of the Aggies too many times. They were the preseason 6th best team in the country last season before face planting to a 5-7 record.

This team was held mostly in check by Patrick Toney last year, and he couldn’t keep anyone in check.

Yet, in true Jimbo fashion, they upset LSU at the end of the season.

This roster is talented enough to be ranked far higher than 12th in the SEC. But like Lucy pulling the football out from Charlie Brown, we won’t trust it until there are actual wins on the field.
