Missouri has chronically been a team in the SEC that is hard to ever take 100% seriously. Yes, they will pop up and steal victories here and there, and road trips there in November always have a way to be closer than they should, but there is very little coming back for Missouri to indicate that they will be more than a 6-6 team in 2023.

They do have five-star wide receiver Luther Burden, who managed a grand total of 375 yards receiving in 2022.

If you want to defend Burden, then part of that could be due to questionable QB play. The problem is 2023 doesn’t look like it will be much better behind center.

Brady Cook had offseason shoulder surgery, Jake Garcia transferred in from Miami, and beyond that, its former four-star prospect Sam Horn.

Plus, outside of their 2022 recruiting class, Missouri has been hanging out of the top 25 for this four-year cycle, and they haven’t brought in much to move the needle out of the transfer portal.
