SEC Power Rankings: Eye of the Tiger

2022 Record: 10-4

2023 FPI Rating: 22.1

ESPN Win Projection: 9.5

Draft Kings Win Projection: 9.5

Best Recruiting Class Last Four Years:  3rd (2021)

Transfer Portal: 1st in SEC

LSU is forever a sleeping giant, even when they have dips like they did in 2021. Their recruiting has still been better than everyone but Alabama and Georgia, and they loaded up this year in the transfer portal, particularly on defense.

Despite a couple of early season hiccups, Brian Kelly had things rolling in Baton Rouge before falling back off the rails at the very end of the season.

They righted the ship with their 63-7 beatdown of Purdue in the Cheez-It Bowl.

Jayden Daniels is back at QB and became a truly dangerous dual-threat by season’s end. They will still need some good fortune to get past Alabama, but LSU will be one of the top SEC squads in 2023.
