SEC Power Rankings: Falling upwards

2022 Record: 8-5

2023 FPI Rating: 13.4

ESPN Win Projection: 7.5

Draft Kings Win Projection: 7.5

Best Recruiting Class Last Four Years:  17th (2021)

Transfer Portal: 4th in SEC

Ole Miss coming in at number four is almost a perfect metaphor for Lane Kiffin’s career, always falling upwards, even if there isn’t much substance to warrant the hype.

To be fair, the metrics have Ole Miss pegged at 7.5 wins, so one coin flip in favor of the Rebels would match their win total from 2022.

But with Mississippi State expected to take a step back and Auburn, Arkansas, and Texas A&M all being unproved products, it’s not unrealistic to see Ole Miss finish third in the SEC West.

Are they better than Tennessee? Hard to say, but they did hit the transfer portal hard and have both Spencer Sanders and Walker Howard on the roster to battle it out with Jaxson Dart for the starting job in 2023.
