Win Probability – 57% Vanderbilt to 73%

Of all the losses Florida football endured in 2022, the loss to Vanderbilt was the most inexcusable. Coming off a win against South Carolina, Florida was 6-4 on the season and could finish strong with wins over Vanderbilt and FSU to finish a respectable 8-4.

Much of the offseason conversation would be far more positive had the Gators actually closed out the season.

But alas, nothing went right for Billy Napier and crew while in Nashville.

Jason Marshall muffing a punt for a touchdown was probably the more backbreaking play, but the win probability meter says that Vanderbilt’s seven-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to make it 21-12 was a 16% swing by itself.

The bleeding didn’t stop, and Florida lost 31-24.
