Florida football recruiting already has lots of great talent committed in the 2024 class, and they are in play for many other top uncommitted prospects.

But they haven’t been shy about going after recruits committed elsewhere to try and flip them to the Gators. Especially 5-star QB commit DJ Lagway, who’s in just about the entire country’s ear when it comes to pitching UF.

Obviously, the Gators aren’t going to just walk into another team’s class and poach what they want.

But they’ll get a few.

Here are some of the top committed prospects that are on “flip-watch” to become Gators.

Florida football recruiting: Jeremiah Smith – Ohio State

Smith has been the biggest name in Florida recruiting for a while now, and he isn’t even on the commit list. The Ohio St commit is the 2nd-best player in the country and the top wide receiver in the 2024 class according to 247 Sports.

Jeremiah, out of Opa Locka, Florida, has been one of Billy Napier’s high-priority in-state targets for a while, and he may be making some progress.

Smith has been to Gainesville multiple times with DJ Lagway, and the two seem to have a pretty good relationship.

Jeremiah also scheduled an official visit to come back to see the Gators and adjusted the date to ensure that DJ would be there with him on June 9th.

It’s safe to say that securing Smith’s commitment would launch the Gators’ recruiting to another level, and give Lagway a lethal weapon to throw to when he gets to campus.

It’s not easy stealing a WR from Ohio State, but Napier won’t quit until he’s signed.
