As we enter into summertime, you’ll see players from Florida football posting videos of themselves working out back home. Often times these videos are meh and we move along with our day.

But incoming freshman Eugene Wilson posted a video yesterday that even Billy Napier couldn’t ignore.

Florida Football: Made you look

Wilson is the four-star wide receiver out of Gaither High School in Tampa that was one of the few new Gators not to enroll early in Gainesville. So while we got to see new freshmen Andy Jean and Aiden Mizell during the Spring Game, we didn’t get to see the highest-rated prospect of the three.

If there is any concern that Wilson has been sitting at home eating Cheetos on the couch, he took to Twitter to assure everyone that hasn’t been the case.

Wilson committed to Florida football in July of last year. At the time, he was lower rated four-star ranked as low as 262nd nationally as recently as April of 2022.

But Wilson shot up all the recruiting services’ boards and by the time he officially signed with the Gators in December, he was on the fringe of the top 100.

On3 currently has him as a five-star prospect and the fourth-best wide receiver nationally in the class of 2023.

Given the offensive line issues we saw in the Spring Game, injuries aside, Wilson could be a massive cog in the system as Graham Mertz (or Jack Miller) look for quick check-down options. And if this video is any indication, Wilson has the ability to turn check downs into touchdowns.

Except the hype train for Wilson to grow more and more once Florida reconvenes for Fall camp as more and more video like this get posted. if he can pull this off against Utah in the opener with everyone in the country watching, that hype train could turn into a full blow locomotive.
