Florida Football NFL Draft Biggest Surprises: Brenton Cox goes undrafted

Scouting Report. Florida. Brenton Cox. player. 49. Pick Analysis. Edge. 2

Heading into the 2022 season, there were publications that had Brenton Cox being selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. As we all know, he didn’t finish his season with Florida football after being dismissed by Billy Napier midseason.

But even with the dismissal and a pedestrian NFL Combine performance, Cox was still pegged by numerous publications as an early Day 3 pick. Bleacher Report still had him in the top 100 during the first week of April.

Yet as name after name got called, Cox never heard his name. Then as the list of undrafted free agents started to trickle out, Cox still hadn’t signed with a team on Saturday.

He announced on Instagram yesterday that he was signing with the Green Bay Packers.

It is quite the fall for the former five-star recruit.
